Robbie Seay Band delivers a collection of modern rock/worship tunes with their sophomore release, Give Yourself Away.
Give Yourself Away is a follow-up to 2005's Sparrow Records debut, Better Days, and it promises listeners an honest offering of energetic and meaningful songs that challenge, yet encourage.
In addition to leading worship and releasing Better Days in 2005, the band also released four independent albums and toured with David Crowder in 2005 on the 30-city, "Collision" tour.
Known for a modern worship style, the band's songs feature raw, insightful lyrics combined with an equally powerful and relevant pop/rock sound.
As the band rolls out their second major studio effort, they continue to not only be busy at home in their home church in Houston, but in the studio, on the road and is working with Compassion International to support children in Uganda.
For Give Yourself Away, the band teamed up with producer Tedd T. (Mute Math, Delirious, David Crowder Band) to come up with a collection of songs that not only demonstrate their faith, but to take them to the next level, musically.
The song, "Rise" is a call to action, while "Song of Hope," recognizes that God is the source of our hope. Other standouts include, "Shine Your Light On Us," "New Day," and "Come Alive."
Robbie Seay Band also brings forth the band's rendition of the popular "Beautiful Scandalous Night," which was written by Derri Daugherty / Steve Hindalong, and recorded by Leigh Nash a few years ago.
Overall, Give Yourself Away is a very solid effort that encourages listeners to live out and share their faith. It combines meaningful messages with a positive pop/rock sound. I highly recommend it.
