Ontario-based Article One delivers an impressive sophomore effort that will appeal to wide-range alt/rock audiences with the release of Colors and Sounds on Inpop Records.
Produced by Tedd T. (Newsboys, Mute Math), the project combines striking violin and keyboard instrumentation mixed with strong three-part harmonies to create a unique sound. Additionally, the effort features production collaboration from Matt and Nathan Piche, who wrote many of the songs. Tedd T. and Cindy Morgan also wrote several of the songs for the project.
Standouts include “Without You” (I’m Not Alright), “Never Too Late to Call” and “Dare to Believe.” As a follow-up to the band’s self-titled debut, Article One in 2007, the foursome demonstrates their talent as an alternative pop/rock artist by continuing to stretch their own musical boundaries. The result is a fresher sound mixed catchy grooves and infectious melodies.
