Sarah MacIntosh, last seen fronting Chasing Furies almost a decade ago, is back with a stunning project produced by her husband Jonathan (Luna Halo), who plays guitars. He's joined by Brent Milligan on bass and Vinnie Colaiuta (Sting) on drums to create a polished gem.
Sarah is one of those ethereal singers who could make the phone book sound beautiful. Her voices flows and shimmers magically, reminiscent of similar songbirds like Dolores O'Riordan of the Cranberries. The wonderful thing about The Waiters, The Watchers, The Listeners, The Keepers, and Me (the longest CD title I've ever reviewed, taken from the song "Sunshine") is that the lyrics are worshipful. I hate to call this a worship CD, because too many will immediately consign it to the bin of formulaic trite worship mush, but in reality this is a gorgeous alt/pop/rock offering to God that we can all savor.
If you enjoy heavenly voices like Karin Bergquist (Over The Rhine), Leigh Nash (Sixpence), Christine Denté, or Adie Camp, don't miss this one. To quote David Crowder, who admittedly has more spectacular hair, "Sarah's voice lures you into thinking bits of heaven might actually be here already."
