Comatose Comes Alive DVD
2008 Lava Records
19 tracks

Skillet's first live DVD features a 15-song live performance from the Comatose tour, plus four concept videos. This DVD explodes with all the energy of Skillet's amazing live performances. Skillet has been one of the best live bands in Christian rock for a long time, and anyone who sees Comatose Comes Alive will understand why. John & Korey Cooper are the hardest rocking couple on-stage since Glenn & Wendi Kaiser's glory days with Rez. Add Ben Kasica's sizzling lead guitar work and the powerful drumming of 18-year-old Jen Ledger (who turns 19 today) in her first recorded appearance with Skillet and the intensity of the show will tire you out from just watching. Ledger, who replaces the retired Lori Peters and keeps Skillet's male/female ratio balanced, also sings on "Yours to Hold."

Along with the expected Comatose hits like "Those Nights and "Better Than Drugs," the DVD includes Skillet classics like "Collide," "My Obsession" and "Savior." The bonus videos are "Rebirthing," "Whispers In The Dark," "Savior" and the "Making of the Album."

This is the only concert DVD that consistently disappears from my office, but I know where it can be found--in my musician son's room. He's got good taste in music. This one is for all Skillet fans who want to see Comatose come alive.

Note: Comatose Comes Alive is also available as a CD with the same live tracks. Intead of the videos, the CD includes acoustic versions of five songs plus the B-side, "Live Free or Let Me Die."
