Flicker serves up a tasty set of ten videos, and throws in a bonus concert as well on their Flicker Rocks Harder DVD. Seven bands are featured, and to add a little extra, the videos are presented like a TV show hosted by Dave Pelsue of Kids in the Way and Obadiah of TVU. The DVD kicks off with Pillar's intense concept video for Bring Me Down, filmed in the same prison as The Green Mile movie. Later, Pillar slows things down with an unplugged version of Further From Myself, accompanied by a string section. Kids In The Way contribute their anthem We Are and Phoenix With A Heartache. Everyday Sunday is probably the "least heavy" band on the DVD. They contribute two videos, tying together Gypsy Girl and Comfort Zone by having the actress from Gypsy Girl reprise her role in Comfort Zone. Single videos come from screamo band subseven with Emotion, retro rockers Stereo Motion doing Tip of My Tongue in a live setting, and a couple of hard core concept videos: Staple's DVD and Mortal Treason's War Within.
The bonus is a live five-song concert from Kids In The Way performing at the TVU studio, repeating their two videos and adding three additional songs.
Flicker doesn't take itself too seriously, as evidenced by the message at the bottom of the DVD. Prominent white letters boast, "THE BEST VIDEOS EVER," but smaller less obvious text puts the thought in context: "These aren't THE BEST VIDEOS EVER but we think they are pretty cool." You've got to like their sense of humor! Now get the DVD for yourself or a teen in your life.
