I first heard Bryan Duncan back in the 1970s, singing on the Maranatha 5! album. I soon got the original Sweet Comfort Band record, and during the Breakin' the Ice tour of 1978, I traveled 200 miles to see Sweet Comfort in person. Over a quarter century later, Bryan has a new live project out that includesI Love You With My Life, originally heard on Breakin' The Ice.
The Music City Live project by Bryan Duncan & The Neosoul Band is available both as a DVD and as a CD, featuring the same 10 songs and almost an hour of excellent live music. The band is superb, but they are also joined by guest artists including Stryper bassist Tim Gaines and renowned horn player Fletch Wiley.
The CD adds one bonus song called Don't Help the Devil and the DVD bonus material includes nine segments totalling over 16 minutes of Bryan at home and in the studio working on his Radio Rehab radio show.
Music City Live is for anyone who enjoys Duncan's distinctively soulful voice and great sense of humor.
