The O.C. Supertones have decided to call it quits this year and are on their farewell tour. However, they decided to release a worship project a couple of weeks ago that includes five worship songs recorded in 2003 plus a few older songs such asHallelujah (from Chase the Sun), Away From You (from Live, Vol. 1) and of course, Faith of a Child and Shepherd is a Lamb (both from Revenge of the O.C. Supertones).
The worship songs are Come Thou Fount, Remember, How Deep the Father's Love, Here I Am to Worship and Blessed Assurance. The other songs are re-recorded versions of Louder Than The Mob and Hold On To Jesus.
This CD is primarily for Supertones fans who want a complete collection. The worship songs don't have the typical Supertones sound, especially since Matt Morginsky AKA Mojo, only sings on two of them. Trombone player Dan Spencer sings on the others, doing a nice job even though his voice isn't as familiar to us. If you're interested in the Supertones but don't have any CDs yet, I recommend that you start with Revenge of the O. C. Supertones; however, if your interest is primarily in worship music, try Faith of a Child.
