I've always enjoyed the Passion CDs. I was introduced to my favorite preacher, John Piper, by listening to his message "Boasting Only In The Cross" from OneDay2000 (You can listen to him preach here). One week ago my wife and I were able to attend the Passion Experience concert in the Denver area. Chris Tomlin and David Crowder led worship, with talks by Louie Giglio. It was a wonderful experience, but more than that, it was an experience grounded on the propositional truth that Jesus Christ entered history, died, and rose again. Our postmodern era tends to diminish truth in favor of experience alone, but experience without a foundation is little more than spiritual cotton candy. It might taste good for a moment, but once consumed, nothing substantial has been acquired. The Passion Experience--replete with a dizzying array of video screens, skull-crushing music and candles on stage--nonetheless reaches out to the college generation with pure, unadulterated truth. Now you can share in the experience, even if you don't live near a city on the current tour. The Sacred Revolution DVD is your ticket to sharing in well over three hours of music, messages and highlights from the OneDay03 gathering in Texas as tens of thousands of college students joined in worship.

The DVD begins with The Heart of Oneday03, about 75 minutes of highlights, including speaker excerpts and clips from more than 20 songs. You'll gain a feel for what the gathering must have been like, but without having to deal with the weather.

The second section, Songs of Sacred Revolution, features five full-length live videos of songs from the Sacred Revolution CD: All The Earth by Charlie Hall (written for OneDay03), Holy is The Lord and Take My Life by Chris Tomlin, Sing to The King by Candi Pearson, and O Praise Him (All This For a King) by the David Crowder Band.

Fuel for the 268 Generation closes out the DVD with six powerful talks, challenging the hearers to live lives committed to the cause of Christ. The speakers are Beth Moore of Living Proof Ministries, John Piper of Desiring God Ministries, Louie Giglio of Passion, Kirk Cameron of "Growing Pains" fame (and more recently, the "Left Behind" movie), Joshua Harris, author of "I Kissed Dating Goodbye," and Heather Mercer, missionary to Afghanistan and prisoner of the Taliban. The OneDay03 overview is interesting, and the music videos are inspiring, but the talks are indispensable. Just listening to John Piper and Heather Mercer is worth the price of the DVD, and the other speakers are tremendous as well.

Sacred Revolution: Live From OneDay03 is for anyone who wants to explore the Passion experience, and isn't afraid of being challenged by powerful talks. It doesn't hurt if you enjoy modern worship as well.
