Audio Adrenaline means energy, fun, and Christian commitment. TheLift DVD gives us a slice of life with the band. I was disappointed at first when I saw the case listed only three videos--Rejoice and Ocean Floor from Lift, and Hands and Feet from the Underdog album. Happily, a little digging turned up much more.
Rejoice features drummer Ben Cissell taking us on a road trip across America; the music is interspersed with people giving their meaning of the word "rejoice." The next video is worth the price of the DVD, as Audio A takes us to the Amazon in an inspiring video for one of their most moving songs, Hands and Feet. The band takes to the river in a canoe, and back on the shore, they amuse native children by tossing them into the river (no piranha are seen). Every youth group should watch this video.
Ocean Floor, another superb video, depicts the band performing on a beach--when you think about it, that's quite fitting, especially since playing under water would have been tough. The next video is The Making of Ocean Floor, providing insights into the process of setting up and completing a video shoot.
The Audio Clips section includes all of the Lift CD tracks except for I'm Alive, Glory, Summertime, and the bonus tracks.
The Extras section offers some surprises. It starts with On The Road, almost 20 minutes of life with Audio Adrenaline on the Underdog tour. The British band Fono opened for Audio A on the tour (which I was blessed to see in Denver), and ended up being the target of some pranks. Audio A is young at heart, as seen in the pranks involving soaking people with water, scaring them with rubber snakes, and putting embarrassing notes on sleeping victims.
The Lift Photoshoot offers a glimpse into what it's like to shoot promo pics, and the Photo Gallery includes seven concert photos. The final section is Worldwide, a 7.5 minute special about the making of the new CD (reviewed here).
The Lift DVD will be enjoyed by any Audio Adrenaline fans.
