oseven: The Year's Best Christian Rock Hits offers an enjoyable sampling of songs from recent albums by bands as diverse as the hard-rocking Kids in the Way ("Breaking The Legs of Sheep") and worship newcomers, Leeland ("Sound of Melodies"). Well-known veteran bands on the compilation include Jars of Clay ("Work"), Pillar ("Everything"), Skillet ("Comatose") and Disciple ("Rise Up"), while newcomers such as Fireflight ("You Decide"), Nevertheless ("The Real") and Eleventyseven ("Myspace") are represented as well.
Day of Fire ("Cut & Move"), Red ("Breathe Into Me"), Krystal Meyers ("Collide"), Decypher Down ("Life Again"), Until June ("Sleepless") and oi! Celtic punkers Flatfoot 56 ("Brotherhood") round out the collection in style. There's something here for everybody, and I'm happy with the song selections, as they do an above average job of representing the bands, unlike some compilations. Get this for someone who's interested in Christian rock, but unsure about what's available.
