Speak To Me is a follow-up to Moore’s last solo release, A Beautiful Sound, which released in 2002 and was his second solo effort since parting with The Distance. Speak To Me is notably one of Moore’s strongest projects to date. There are some elements of the project that reflect upon Moore’s signature style and sound, but there are some surprises in the mix, such as Moore’s duet with Watermark’s Christy Nockles with a touching rendition of Brad Paisley’s “When I Get Where I’m Going.”
One song, “Your Day,” is a catchy, pop number that one might expect from Moore. As its chorus relates, “This is Your day / I'm going Your way / I cannot wait to see what You have in store for me today." Other standouts include “He Knows My Name,” “Every Single One,” and “Captured.”
Overall, the project contains a combination of more upbeat, pop numbers with a number of thoughtful ballads. It is an insightful effort that touches on a number of different themes including caring for the needy and impacting today’s generation Speak To Me is an easy listen that is encouraging and uplifting. The songs tell a number of different stories that we all can relate to. I highly recommend it.
