Do you enjoy traditional hymns?  Do you like your music raw and unadulterated?  If so, you are going to love this album.  How this album came about is a story in itself.  AJ+CPO are Christians who make their living by performing songs they have written in secular venues.  Except for the fact their music is good, poignant, and from their heart, you wouldn’t know that they were Christians – you might suspect it, but they aren’t overt in their faith.  After they completed one show at a popular setting in Orange County, the audience was calling for more.  Since they had already exhausted their planned material they spontaneously started playing traditional hymns and were surprised that the audience started singing along.  It seems that they hit the “latent Christian button” for many in the audience.  It was at that point that they realized that others, Christian and non, wanted to listen to music that refreshed their soul.

That’s exactly how this album met me!  It refreshed my soul and caused my heart to sing the hymns from my youth to the Lord.  With vocals that could be a mellow Bruce Springsteen – without the attitude,  and a simple acoustic guitar and keyboard – no bass or drums – I’m certain this album will refresh your soul as well.  My favorite is a song they wrote and the only hymn you won’t recognize, Sweeter the Pain (I Will Sing) is the most wonderful new song I have heard in a long time.

They are not on  a major label yet, but don’t let that stop you from ordering it online here.
