Last Breath Fiction Review : 2009/09/08
Last Breath: The Rayne Tour
by Brandilyn & Amberly Collins
Grand Rapids: Zondervan, 2009, 228 pp., paperback.
Last Breath is the youth suspense sequel to
Always Watching by the mother/daughter team of Brandilyn & Amberly Collins. This one continues the story at the Rayne concert at Denver's Pepsi Center. Teen protagonist Shaley O'Connor, daughter of rock star Rayne, is haunted by the last words she heard from a murdered man: "You father sent me." She's never known her father, and is torn between her desperation to finally know him and her fear that he might be out to hurt her.
Last Breath jumps back and forth between 1992 when Rayne is in high school, and 2009 when the events in the series are happening. Readers will find it hard to put the book down as they wonder how everything will tie together.
The Rayne Tour series will appeal to high school students. The books includes study questions, making them a good resource for a girl's youth group to read and study together.
Don't miss
the interview my daughter and I had with Brandilyn and Amberly.
