Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Samson's Hairbrush
A VeggieTales Production
Big Idea, 2005.

Minnesota Cuke (played by Larry the Cucumber) established his legendary explorer status in the Veggie Tales game, Minnesota Cuke and The Coconut Apes. On Saturday, he returns in DVD form, seeking the powerful hairbrush of Samson. The difficult topic of bullying is addressed in the two main segments, as Junior Asparagus faces a bully in the VeggieTales version of Robin Hood. Then Minnesota Cuke has to decide whether he'll use the hairbrush's power against Professor Rattan, who has bullied Minnesota since second grade. Kids will learn about bullying and forgiveness as they enjoy this rollicking adventure. Canadians play a bigger role in this DVD than in any previous VeggieTales DVD, so maybe that will boost sales north of the border!

A VeggieTales DVD wouldn't be complete with a Silly Song from Larry--this one is Pizza Angel, an instant classic to delight young and old alike. It may even boost pizza sales. As usual for Veggie Tales, there are subtle jokes and allusions to old movies and shows to entertain the adults as well as the younger viewers. Country legend Charlie Daniels even contributed the title song.

It looks like VeggieTales has another winner. I haven't seen the final version with the bonus features, but I'll update this review after I've seen what other goodies the BigIdea crew has cooked up.
