Duke and the Great Pie War
A VeggieTales Production
Big Idea, 2005.

The gang from VeggieTales returns with another beautifully done 3D animation in Duke and the Great Pie War. As usual, some goodies are presented before the main feature.

The opening animation short is called Babysitter in De-Nile, featuring Miriam (Laura Carrot) protecting her baby brother Moses. You'll have to watch the DVD to see how her quick thinking cleverly saves him from certain discovery by Pharaoh's men.

A great little silly song is introduced in the Blues with Larry segment, featuring authentic bluesman Blind Lemon Lincoln. Larry is just a bit too happy to be convincing at the blues, much to Blind Lemon's frustration, and so Larry ends up dabbling in polka as well.

The main feature is adapted from the Biblical account of Ruth, Naomi and Boaz. It runs about 21 minutes and introduces the beautiful young rhubarb, Sweet Petunia. Her mother-in-law Nona is played by Madame Blueberry. The beloved and ever-popular Larry the Cucumber is Sweet Petunia's champion who must defeat the evil knight, Otis the Elevated. The tournament action is fast and furious as Larry risks all by putting Sweet Petunia first!

VeggieTales fans will be certain to enjoy Duke and the Great Pie War.
