Although my seminar on The Shack was given back in November, it was interesting to get a response this week. The new name in the last response showed I'm not exactly famous, but hey, at least I got email, and I'm a perfect fit!

Hello Mr. Young,

I've been asked to do a seminar on The Shack. I enjoyed parts of your book and had concerns about others. I've listened to you on The Drew Marshall Show and also purchased the Regent seminar. You sound like a nice sincere guy, and I certainly don't want to misrepresent your views in the areas where we disagree, so I decided to try contacting you.

James B. De Young asserts a personal friendship with you and a firsthand knowledge of your support of universal reconciliation. Do you have a response to his "At The Back of The Shack: A Torrent of Universalism"? That would answer most of my questions.

Thank you,

Randy Brandt

Randy,

This is Amy, Paul's assistant as well as his oldest daughter, I wanted to let you know that my dad is not a universalist. My dad researched the topic of universal reconciliation for my grandma. I hope this helps and I am sorry that it took me so long to respond to you. Have a great day.

From one perfect fit to another,

Amy~

Hi Amy,

Thank you for the reply. Better late than never!

I know your dad is not a universalist in the sense that people can be saved by anything. Clearly, he teaches that Christ is our only salvation. My only question would be whether he believes everyone will be saved eventually, or whether some people are eternally in hell. That's what most people wonder when dealing with universalism.
Have a great weekend!

Randy

Rudy,

He is not one hundred percent either way, does he want everyone to be saved in the end? Yes. Does he believe it to be that way... He is not sure. I hope that helps. Have a great day!

From one perfect fit to another,

Amy~
